TDI Issues Special Data Call

On Monday, May 1, 2017, the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) issued a special “data request” seeking information from P&C insurance companies in Texas who wrote direct commercial property and business owners insurance in Texas during 2016.

There are two categories of companies that must respond to this data call:

• Insurers that reported 2016 Texas commercial property or business owners data to TDI that did not include location
• Insurers whose 2016 data was not accepted by TDI as of February 28, 2017

The data will be used by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) to determine required participation shares for 2017. Submissions must be received by TDI by June 1, 2017. More information can be found on the TDI website.
