Agent Licensing Exams Now Available at Select Sites

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has announced that some testing sites for Texas agent and adjuster licenses are now available. To find a test center and make a reservation, individuals can log into their Pearson VUE account. TDI has authorized Pearson VUE to resume testing in locations where social distancing and safeguards are in place to reduce risks.

Agents and brokers who pass licensing exams but still need to have a fingerprint background check can apply for a temporary license. Once fingerprints are received by TDI, a regular license will be issued to replace the temporary license.

TDI has waived certain licensing requirements for insurance agents and adjusters in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. For more information on temporary licensing changes, TDI has created a list of frequently asked questions for Texas agents.
